Four Oklahoma City Police officers are on administrative leave while investigators probe a so-called "suicide by cop" shooting that left an elderly man dead.
The dead man is identified as Gail Dean Fairless, 73.
The police officers are Sgt. David Hollis, Sgt. Jeff Coffey, Sgt. Jonathan Davis and Sgt. Anthony Pundsack, said police Capt. Dexter Nelson.
Fairless's wife called 911 about 6:30 a.m. Sunday after her husband threatened to kill himself during a domestic dispute at the couple's home in the 4300 block of NW 21 Terr., Nelson said.
Officers arrived to find Fairless in a bedroom, standing near a gun. Nelson said when officers ordered Fairless to move away from the weapon, he instead picked it up and pointed it at them. That's when police shot Fairless, Nelson said.
