OSBI Out With Preliminary Crime Report

The OSBI is out with its preliminary 2012 Oklahoma Crime Report and it shows a dramatic increase in the number of reported rapes in Oklahoma last year. Reported rapes increased nearly 15% from 2011. The number of murders remained steady at 219. Aggravated assaults increased by nearly 4%. Robberies decreased. In the non-violent crime category, auto theft increased by 4.8%, larceny increased by 2.9%, and the number of burglaries in the state decreased by more than 2%.
