Governor Mary Fallin has rejected clemency for death row inmate Brian Davis. Last week the State Pardon and Parole Board voted to recommend his sentence be commuted to life without parole. In her executive order, Governor Fallin says she thoroughly reviewed the evidence and determined that clemency should be denied. The 38-year-old Davis is scheduled to be executed June 25th at the McAlester penitentiary. He was convicted by a Kay County jury of the rape and murder of his girlfriend's mother, 52-year-old Josephine Sanford.
