The State Department of Education has launched a new initiative to help teachers whose classrooms were damaged or destroyed by the May tornadoes. State School Superintendent Janet Barresi says it will connect teachers who need items replaced with people who would like help replace those items. It's called Project Meet the Need and more information can be found on the State Department of Education website at www.ok.gov/sde. Barresi is encouraging teachers to visit the website and post what items they need. Donations can be brought to the State Department of Education, 2500 N. Lincoln Boulevard, the Oliver Hodge Building in Oklahoma City between the hours of 8am and 4:30pm Monday thru Friday. Supplies will be delivered to teachers before the start of the school year.
