Carrie Underwood can't wait to make her debut singing NBC's "Sunday Night Football" theme. She tells CMT Radio she's watched the weekly NFL games for years, so to now "be a part of that is exciting."
The country star adds that it wasn't a tough decision when she was asked to take over the song from Faith Hill. Carrie says it sounded like fun to follow in Hill's footsteps and "do something really cool like that."
Faith announced in April that she was ending her run singing the Joan Jett-inspired "Waiting All Day For Sunday Night" theme to NBC's broadcast, after six seasons providing the customized opening to the games.
Underwood will begin her tenure with the Dallas Cowboys-New York Giants game on September 8th.
